Physical activity

Professor Blackburn described obesity as a "chronic disease" that would be a lifelong struggle. He always made it clear to his patients where his real cause was ("between your ears”).

He attached absolute importance to physical aerobic activity, the regularity of which the client must get used to, just as a diabetic gets used to insulin injections if he wants to keep his diabetes under control.

Regular physical activity (at least 3 times a week for 45 minutes) is absolutely crucial for maintaining body weight.

We choose the types of activities that best correspond to our age, health status, and practical possibilities to follow them in the long term.

You always need to run out of breath and sweat during them - passive "sports" such as golf, chess, or yoga do not fulfill this purpose for us.

Examples of suitable physical activities:

  • Run
  • Cycling or spinning
  • Roller skating
  • Zumba
  • Aerobics
  • Pilates
  • Tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash,…
  • etc.
